Are you looking forward to Easter? I am! Easter is a great time of year for us as Christians as we reflect and celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we journey toward Easter, which is March 27, 2016 this year, it is important for us to be prepared to celebrate. In order for us to be prepared, we must also journey through the process of Lent – which is a time of self-examination and repentance. A Holy Lent is achieved only through living each day for God, and purging ourselves of our own desires and self glorifying actions, and allowing the Holy Spirit to empower us to be an instrument of faith and grace. Just as we are forgiven, we must forgive. Just as we are shown kindness, we too must show kindness. Just as we are given grace, we also must show grace.

You get the picture? Lent is a time to ask ourselves if everything we are doing, and saying, honors and glorifies God through Jesus Christ. If we only “look like we are Christians” on Sunday, then believe me, others will not be able to see Christ in us. Christianity is not a religion, where we can just enter worship, say a prayer, and go through the week. Christianity is a relationship with the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer through acceptance and acknowledgement of Jesus Christ in our personal life.

Have you experienced the love and grace of God through Jesus Christ? If not, I would love to sit with you and share you my faith story to show how Christ is alive and well in my life. My prayer for you is that you allow yourself to be still and know God. When you meet God, you will be better equipped to handle the stress of life.

If you have experienced God through Jesus Christ, then I pray you will allow God to use you to be an example of Christ to others. Jesus Christ is the only way to God, and you may be the only one in which someone is able to see Christ in the world.  Be an ambassador for Christ. Live a Holy Lent and prepare yourself for the joyous celebration of Easter, the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ!
